054

(canon eos a2 / tri-x film)

today i woke up and looked outside and there it was, a snow covered wonderland or as i said on facebook, a layer of white frosting snow sitting lightly atop espresso goodness.  it was a bit of a surprise though it should be more surprising that we were snowless until today.

today was yummy bagels from my favourite bakery, vanilla lattes with skim of course, brand new yummy art supplies including new to me oilbars which i am excited to try out and hours of texting and zipping photos back and forth (thank you blackberry) to my favourite girlfriends, it was sort of almost like we were all together, in spirit anyway.

and now i am cozy in my home, the light is fading quickly and i am surrounded by art supplies and looking forward to hours of messy fun.

some days i really really love my life.  today is one of those days.  interestingly enough i have more of those days than not.  i really am embracing the life i have and taking time to really be grateful for it all and though my life is far from perfect and there are still struggles, there seems to be more ease and more room to breathe than ever before.  nothing has really changed except perhaps how i am viewing it all.

perspective is everything i suppose and am hoping i can hold onto this one for a long time to come.

peace.

What a beautiful post Darlene. I've been struggling with perspective these days, your words inspire me. And on a different note, OMG I LOVE this photo! I don't know what it is about it, but it's just grasping me. Thank you for posting that too.

This entire post sounds so peaceful and comforting. Maybe I love it so much because I'm finally starting to feel a little more comfortable in my life and in my skin again. Also? loving your series of b&w pics. xo

I loved this post Darlene! I've been struggling BIG TIME with perspective lately and yet, I have more goodness in my life than I could have ever imagined. I think there is so much joy and goodness inside of us all the time. I think our egos want to stomp on it. I really do savor those days that come together so perfectly and taste so delicious.
