A generalization for the certain type of girl that usually shops at more trendy/natural stores, cares about the environment, plays music, has a strong interest in the arts, enjoys knitting and other such things, listens to regina spektor and other indie bands, wears cardigans, legwarmers, peasant dresses and ballet flats. Also a product of 3rd wave feminism, not afraid to embrace the girly side.
hipster 1: "I met this knitcore chick today at urban outfitters and we're going to the damien rice show a little later on, I totally dig her."
hipster 2: "Cool"
knitcore girl: "soooo, i knitted you this scarf, and made you this mix cd with some of the new feist, and also sketched this idea for a new t-shirt for your band."

Breaking it down
Hippy
someone who has a bright outlook on life and cares about the world instead of trying to ruin it. they are often member of groups such as greenpeace and antiwar groups that care about the environment.
they reject the established culture and are a subculture originating in San Francisco in the 1960s who advocated universal love and peace, usually had long hair and used soft drugs, usually listen to acid rock and progressive rock music, reggae music such as that of bob marley.

Refers to anything associated with or part of high density developement or growth in a given area, including, but not limited to, housing, commercial, buildings, and infrastructure.
The boy grew up in an urban area where everything his eyes could see was manmade; buildings, sidewalks, concrete; everywhere he looked. He actually preferred it, as he could walk wherever he needed to go. The best part, was that there were parks where he could "get away" had he ever felt the need to.
