Table Dancing
in other lifetimes, she danced in darkened strobe lights of pulsating music
feet curved around hips on tall black speakers
head thrown back, eyes closed into herself
in cages hung above a paint splattered floor
black walls and heat rising like a whip swung low
and then she faced the extinguished light of death
her heart emerging from the night’s comfort
lost solace found
in the bright light of sunlight’s soft illuminating reality
away from the harsh light of a coloured cube of insanity
now she dances in the beauty of the light
on tables carved from the earth
with shoes that caress the dirt of garden life
smiles that light up a sunshine room
in a life filled with love.
