Over the years, they have read each others blogs, commented on each others photos, twittered each other’s lines. Then one day, Darlene emailed Kristen about a pair of killer boots. Soon after, Kristen emailed Darlene with some information on where she could stock up on some polaroid film since Darlene was discovered to be hoarding what little she had scared to use it for fear of running out. They recently talked on the phone and discovered they share so much more than a love of documenting their cities, documenting the lines on their faces and the world through their lens. Darlene’s shipment of polaroid film arrived on her doorstep and she pulled out two of her Polaroid cameras and starting swooning over the satisfying whirr click swoosh and she thought of her friend Kristen and a thought was born. A polaroid diptych a week until the film runs out. We figure we have enough polaroids to do at least a year, 52 dips between us.

Darlene: shares her beauty at hippy urban girl and can also be found on flickr at daisies
Update: Amazingly enough, we have fully completed two years at this point and are feeling hopeful that we have a third year in us. Our love for polaroid film has collectively grown as this project has continued on.
Further Update: Three years, we have passed the three year mark with no signs of stopping. We both still have bits of actual Polaroid film squirreled away for a rainy day and thankfully since this project was formed, Impossible has become quite possible. And our friendship has grown and become something quite solid and beautiful.

is it wrong to be so in love with something you’re involved in? because i can’t stop swooning over our dips – i love that the light is so soft and on our faces. i love that we both had no idea that this is what we were doing and i can’t WAIT to see what our future holds.
love this, love you. xo
